Long overdue update

We found out yesterday at the high risk appointment that we are having a little girl.  She is doing well and about 10 days ahead of schedule already.  The good news about this is that since the little one will be a preemie we are lucky she’s a girl because statistically girls do much better than boys when born really early.  Go figure.

The appointment went well.  I was told once again that I’d need to rest when school is out in a couple weeks.  They said I don’t have to flat down in bed but to “take it easy”.  That is actually good news because bed-rest really is the pits.

I wish I could say everything has been wonderful but really it’s been stressful and not an enjoyable experience.  I’m excited we get this little one but I will be very happy when the pregnancy is over and done with.  I’ve already started to retain water and I’m hoping it doesn’t get any worse, it would be a bad sign of possible heart issues coming again.

Ugh

Lots of bleeding today.    I’m not even going to call the doctor because last time they had no clue what it was so why waste the gas and time going down there… it is however making it REALLY hard for me to focus on studying for the midterm I have toinght.

Gone?

The past few days the morning sickness has become very manageable.  I still get sick but it’s not as bad as it had been, no longer making me stay in bed every possible moment.  Either it’s already going away, I’ve learned the trick to managing it or there is something wrong with the pregnancy.  Since I’ve had no other signs of problems we’ll chalk it up to one of the first two.

I was hoping to not look pregnant for a while but that is gone this week.  I’ll have to get Jeremy to take a picture but all of a sudden I popped out.  With JD I do remember getting big in the first trimester and then mellowing out till the end of the second but this is ridiculous.  Two of my clients on Saturday asked me when I am due, so ya.  I’ve decided to just go along with the ride.

There haven’t been any heart problems since the echo, this is making me VERY optimistic that the pregnancy will go smoothly and I’ve been trying to stay a bit more active since the sickness has tapered off for the time being.

Cat’s out

The school now knows so we aren’t trying to keep it hidden from anyone anymore.  Jeremy and have been concerned about my being able to continue the last term I have of school when I have been feeling so poorly so I finally went in and spoke with some of my teachers.  I feel a lot better after talking to them and I’m praying for the best.

We are anxious and waiting for the heart echo on monday and the ultrasound tomorrow.

No Heartbeat

Doctor says he is hoping it was just too early to see it. We have another appointment in a couple of weeks to check for a heartbeat and get the estimated due date.

Its hard not to be really discouraged since we’ve been here before and had it end with a D&C after all the waiting. It might not have been planned but this baby is our only shot at having another of our own so I’m really praying we see progress next time.

Now for more waiting…and a big nap. I’m so worn out after not sleeping all night.
